For Missions
Steer, Inc. currently has 84-member mission organizations that receive support from farmers and ranchers across the United States. Our member mission organizations cover a diverse range of ministries that span the globe. If you are a mission organization that is seeking to partner with farmers/ranchers in spreading the Gospel Message to the Ends of the Earth, please contact our Steer, Inc. Office.
What Agencies Are Eligible?
- Evangelical mission organizations that are international in scope; para-church or denominational
- U.S.-based mission endeavors to certain ethnic groups
- Other U.S. ministries, if ministries are involved in foreign mission work
What Agencies Are Not Eligible?
U.S. projects or ministries involving:
- Churches
- Christian schools
- Camps
- Radio
- Literature
- Youth
- Rehabilitation
Good news, Steer, Inc. has funds available in our Legacy Fund for projects. All a mission organization must do is find willing farmers and ranchers to take on an agricultural project for your organization.

Membership Requirements
- Agree with the Doctrinal Position of STEER, Inc.
- Have a proper board or council exercising organizational control
- Be a financially responsible U.S.-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization
- Have reputation for integrity and stability
- Have general approval from other evangelical missions and organizations such as the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability or the National Association of Evangelicals
- Be recognized as an international mission organization
- Have three farmers ready to become involved. Farmer agreement forms must be completed and returned to the STEER office.
Membership Commitments
- Provide STEER, Inc. with a financial report every five years prepared by an independent certified public accountant.
- Over $3 Million in total revenue – an Audit is required – prepared in conformity with US GAAP/GAAS standards
- $2–3 Million in total revenue – at least a Review is required – prepared on the GAAP, accrual, or modified cash basis
- Under $2 Million in total revenue – at least a Compilation is required – prepared on the GAAP, accrual, or modified cash basis.)
- The next five-year renewal will be Online. It will be with the 2025 membership dues.
- Attend our Fall Missions Conference at least once every three years.
- Complete an application renewal for continued membership every five years.
- Designate a special representative from your organization to be responsible for directing your involvement with STEER, Inc.
- Pay annual membership dues by December 31st each year. 2024 dues are based on fiscal year 2023-2024. This is figured at 10% of the amount you received from STEER the prior fiscal year. The dues will not be less than $100 or exceed $500.
To Apply
To become a member, the head of your organization must contact STEER, Inc., requesting a membership application. After completing the application, our General Board of Directors meets quarterly to determine membership. A non-refundable $50 application fee is required when returning the membership application to STEER for approval. Upon approval, we will notify your mission organization.
